clinton house wine
Showket Vineyards Cabernet Suvignon
Oakville, Napa Valley 2002
Winemaker: Heidi Barrett

This wine explodes with super concentrated fruit on the nose and on the palate. It has beautiful, smooth solid tannins. The bouquet is luscious. This wine has great structure and a long vanilla and spice finish. There are noticeable traces of mixed berries with spices, semi-sweet chocolate and plum tart with powdered sugar. The finish is long and elegant.

$100.000

  Delectus Winery Cabernet Sauvignon
Sacrashe Vineyard 2002

Dark, firm, rich and concentrated. A mouthful of chewy Cabernet, with dried currant, herb, sage, cedar and tobacco flavors that fold together nicely. The fleshy texture softens the tannins midpalate.
Complex aftertaste.
Best from 2007 through 2012

$165.00

Quintessa Vinyard
Red Meritage

Napa 2002

The bouquet of this wine is a rich mélange of floral and black fruits. A delicate brush stroke from Titian, the accent is on opulence tempered by finesse. A bold attack, that astonishes with its richness and a seamless seque to an ultra ripe, integrated and well textured mid palette. A brooding monolithic mass of bold velvet robed tannins, the assurance of graceful aging leading to a finish that lingers and flirts endlessly. The paragon of the Quintessa Vineyard.

$190

  Cosentino Winery

Barolo Prapó
Ceretto Bricco Rocche

2001

Intense power and length of flavor on a light frame, without any perceptible alcohol to diminish the freshness and succulence of the bright, berried fruit. The wine feels sleek, a tense line of nebbiolo with depth to last for 15 to 20 years.

$125.00

  Terrazas Vineyards
Cheval des Andese

Argentina 2002

Color is deep, intense ruby-red hue, almost black in the middle with mauve glints on the rim. The nose is warm notes of tobacco, red berry fruit, and homemade jam against a cedary backdrop of spice. The palate is core of cassis, blackberry and plum with coffee and vanilla on the mid - palate. Ripe tannins mingle with oak for a beautiful long finish.

$100.00

Chateau Margaux
Margaux

Bordeaux, France, 1993

Chateau Margaux is back after a weak '92. Big for the vintage, featuring loads of new oak to provide a smoky, toasty taste. Attractive currant, black cherry and rose petal character. Medium-bodied exotic and ripe. This wine is at a perfect time for enjoyment.

  Penfolds Vineyards
Grange

Barossa Valley, Australia, 2001
Winemaker: Peter Gago

The premium fruit sourced offers richer fruit flavors and characters, ripe tannins, flavor concentration and greater density. The nose is immediately Grange, vibrant, youthful and lifted. A mix of tightly licorice and freshly tanned leather and dark spices create a poised, controlled and distinctive wine. This wine is beautifully balanced and delivers the expectations demanded of a Grange from this vintage. Peak drinking 2009 to 2038.
